and yet.....men are still overrepresented in almost all fields. Sigh. Girls learn from a very young age that they have to work harder for the same outcomes.

Live in Brookline. BU Family Plan, Employee contribution is $346.87 every 2 weeks. so, $700/mo insurance payment out of pocket. Not including deductibles, co-pays, dental, eyeglasses, etc.

Researchers who have been doxxed for their academic work have been shouting this for years: we need a plan to protect ourselves from concerted, politically motivated attacks on individuals. We need this at the grassroots level, at the departmental level, at the institutional level.

My dad had so much pride, he wanted to find out who helped so he could repay them. No one would tell. I asked him what you were supposed to do in that situation. He thought for a moment and then told me the only way to repay the debt was to help someone else when we could.

I'm sure they did.... it is very tempting when you get literally 5+ review requests a month and you are getting paid $0.00 to do them.

Aww thanks John! Your last point is so crucial. The Ted Talk scene selects for people who are overconfident in their conclusions and good at telling simple, sellable stories — not remotely the same thing as people who are diligent about finding out the truth!
