Being a Jewish student and writer is scary sometimes. Last term, a professor told me "never tell students you are Jewish." In this day and age, it has been so important for Jewish students to feel seen :(

Briefly surfacing from bookmontage to share a suggestion. If lCE is hitting hard near you, like here, rides to work, grocery runs, & school runs are HUGELY helpful to a lot of people. Let someone adjacent to the community know, if you don't know affected people directly.

It wasn't until this month I finally came to the conclusion (or I accepted the reality?) that I completed the transformation from "poet" to "writer." I'M A WRITER :)

I see why so many ppl have negative experiences in their MFAs. Mine was goin great, my professor says "I'm glad you're comfortable enough to show your personality." Then immediately destroyed that comfort by following it up with an ableist tone-policing comment.
