@totalusrankium.bsky.social - I saw this book marketed in an email and immediately shouted "Maurice!" in a bad French accent. Don't ever think your podcast doesn't have an impact. 🤣

This is such a gorgeous suit! I love the play with the fabric pattern.
This week's #ThirtiesThursday garment is this c. 1937 red and black wool two-piece Elsa Schiaparelli suit. The suit, worn by Vogue editor Marcella McGuane, was donated to the Museum at FIT in pieces and was meticulously restored by the museum's conservators.

I’m tired. I forgot to take my medications yesterday. So here is a garden kitty for everyone’s enjoyment.

This man has NO place in leading our country's health care. He is literally the snake oil salesman of our times.

Why can I never find my knitting needles when I need them. I have an entire set of DP knitting needles. I want to cast on a pair of socks. Can I find my needles anywhere? No. But I KNOW as soon as I give in and buy some new ones, my old ones will magically appear. It is the WAY of crafting supplies.

Time for a fun time with crafters, inspiration, and shopping at the Carolina Fiber Fest today!

I am looking forward to taking a needle felting class at the Carolina Fiber Fest tomorrow.

I feel the need to stab something over and over and over until it makes something pretty.

Free Mahmoud Khalil. It's important to protect speech, even, perhaps especially, when we don't agree what's being said. If we don't support other people's First Amendment rights, then who will protect ours? We have to all be in this together.

I want to start regularly baking bread again. If only for the joy that comes with smelling it baking. 🍞

The SAVE Act demands people provide documents that millions of eligible voters don’t have easy access to, such as passports and birth certificates, to register to vote.

This bill is unnecessary — federal and state laws already prevent ineligible people from voting. Congress must reject this bill.

My podcast suggestions this morning for my commute to work. 😆 It was too early in the morning for goat genitals so I opted for Anglo-Saxon graves.

Ok, there is a new video JUST put out that does an excellent job explaining why the 2024 election was likely interfered with.

It’s very sober, presented by an expert, and straightforward enough that even I can process it (as someone who wasn’t a math guy).

Made it back to the gym after several months. I’m trying to start with baby steps since I’m out of shape and my back/hip is easily triggered. But it feels good to be doing something to improve my health.

With the terrible tragedy over the skies of D.C., it’s time to prioritize safety. Trump must end the hiring freeze on air traffic controllers and restore the aviation safety advisory committee he dismantled on Jan 22.

This is absolutely, with no question, fucked up. It's not OK. It is not OK to discriminate, to remove support, to limit healthcare, jobs, etc. based on gender-identity. Protect your neighbors. People, ALL people, deserve to be treated fairly and with respect.
If you are a straight, cis person and you feel that fucking knot in your stomach about what the administration is doing right now to trans people and trans children, you have to at the very fucking least say out loud in front of your friends and peers in real life "this is fucked up."

It’s so important to pay attention to what they DO and NOT what they say.

They’re not even trying to lower prices.
Pardoning criminals is not going to lower crime rates. Arresting any immigrant without papers is not making us safer.

They are creating a spectacle, but what are they doing?
