About 26,875 residents across Washington state remain under an evacuation order or advisory due to flooding.
Live updates: Western Washington braces for more rain and flooding this week
Western Washington is once again bracing for heavy rain and gusting winds through Wednesday, as more atmospheric rivers arrive. More flooding is also expected as more rain pelts the region and mountain dams release water to free up reservoir space. It's once again all eyes on the Skagit River. Forecasters predict it'll crest above major flood stage in Concrete early Tuesday morning, then hit downstream in Mount Vernon that evening. Residents in an area of Auburn were given a "GO NOW" evacuation notice late on Saturday, Dec. 13 as the Green River continued to rise. A portion of SR 167 between Auburn and Kent was closed. Areas affected by heavy rainfall are at an increased risk of landslides and mudslides. Officials have advised visitors of burned areas this weekend to take extra precautions. The Trump administration on Friday approved Washington state’s appeal for federal disaster assistance, quelling some anxiety over whether the state would receive federal assistance. View KUOW's developing list of flooding resources here. See flood updates from Thursday, Dec. 11 here.

I don’t want to hear anymore “Portland is dying” narrative or vague complaints about “ANTIFA” as the clarion call for action in the city. All of that led to Trump targeting us. Groups like People for Portland, associated right-wing media ecosystem, and political opportunists own this.

Ziff Davis and IGN routinely decide that work done by our laid off colleagues is not important. But inevitably, that crucial work falls onto those who remain.

Not this time. Not anymore.

Amelia has been a fantastic editor to work with, truly the best, and anyone would be lucky to have her. Gutted she’s not at IGN anymore, but their loss could very well be your gain. Hire her immediately!
Guess it’s my turn to say that I was laid off at IGN. Real crummy birthday gift, to be honest, but my union fought like hell on my behalf and people came out of the woodwork to support me. Couldn’t be more moved by my colleagues & friends, and am devastated to lose a job and community I love. (1/3)
