Hey, as a librarian I have to tell you

You don't have to finish a book that doesn't interest you. Life's too short for that. Not your jam? You have my permission to move on to the next book.

Tyler Perry shares a powerful shift in mindset:

Every setback was just a wall guiding him to pivot. Instead of breaking down, he learned to thank the walls for redirecting him toward growth.

Think like Tyler.

SINNERS. Go see it. In a theater. 70mm if possible. I’d read nothing about the movie, watched no trailers — went in blind and was BLOWN AWAY. And Delroy Lindo better get an Oscar nomination.

Paige Bueckers didn’t need a title on her resume to make her an all time great. But she joins the long line of UConn legends who won a national championship under Geno. Happy to see her and Azzi finally healthy and achieve the potential from day 1 at Storrs.

Pretty crazy that this is UConn’s first national title in 9 years. No one ever imagined a program like this could see that kind of drought. It’s a testament to how their excellence set the standard and lifted the entire sport. This is well deserved, especially for Paige Bueckers.

Harris: We are in the midst of seeing progress being rolled back, policies that we birthed, being rolled back, the terms that we used for what is progress in America being turned into a pejorative? Intended to deny the facts. And to deny smart policy…

Apropos of nothing: Kamala Harris predicted this exact moment happening:

“Understand that part of Trump’s plan is to put in place a national sales tax of at least 20% on everyday goods and necessities.”

She warned us over & over again & she was so right.

I can’t believe this has to be said, but: You cannot tell the story of Jackie Robinson—as a ballplayer, serviceman, or human—without discussing our country’s history of racism.

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ?

They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses.

That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue.

The cost of tariffs isn’t just the cost of the tariff

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.
