No, they’re NOT doing it. The request for name change was withdrawn when govt declared to do so would be perceived as antisemitic.
Irish are prickly about hostile occupations & genocides (Ukraine, Gaza, Somalia) particularly ones that involve famine (Gaza).
Gaza war is personal for them.

If men with guns and masks tried to pull me out of my car, I'd fight back. Courts should reject any claims by the government that this is aggression by the person being detained, resisting arrest, or that they're a flight risk.
