Good morning. I hope someone gives you a leg up this morning.
A brilliantly pink and orange sunrise, with a tall silhouetted spruce tree on one side of the photo, over an extremely flat horizon. A bunch of goats eating from a large round hay bale, with one black and white goat standing on the back of a small brown horse. There's also a llama lounging on the grass in the background if you look carefully. They're all in a grassy farm pen with a tall wooden fence surrounding it. The sky above is cloudy and the sun hasn't quite come up yet so it's a little dark. The same as the previous photo, except now the black and white goat on the horse's back is using the horse as a step stool to climb on top of the large hay bale. The horse seems completely fine with being a step stool.

Between all the farm chores (assorted goat chores and cleaning harvested shallots), I also managed to get out and take a really lovely woods walk. Need to absorb as much of the pretty colours now before it all turns white with winter...

Had the government said "as a mark of respect, we'd like you to cancel football matches, concerts etc AND protests today", then fair enough. But to single out the protest they've long wanted to stop anyway as the one thing we should not do looks like disgraceful exploitation of a horrific attack.

Finally got round to decanting photos from my big camera, so prepare for a flurry of bird photos.
First up, a trio of herons from #wales in spring

A heron poised on one foot in clear shallow water with neck stretched in a hunting position. Its reflection is very clear and the bright sunlight is casting its shadow to the right. A heron caught during a strike. Its beak is just breaking the water and there is a sploosh jetting up above its head. Its reflection is still very clear so it looks like it is meeting itself at head and knee. A heron in flight. It is flying to the left and slightly away so its yellow feet can be seen stretched out behind. The wings have just finished a down-stroke so the black tips and edges can be clearly seen against the grey of the front of the wing. Below is bluish water , with a line of green above where trees are reflected.

This is his repeated attacks on what he calls the "lanyard class". Who are the terrible people who wear lanyards? Doctors & nurses, care workers, teachers, managers, administrators, secretaries. The people who hold society together, who keep everything running, who do the jobs he wouldn't stoop to.
