Some of the most bizarre complaints I obtained from the FTC were from people who knew they were scammed, but still thought they were talking to the real Elon Musk.

From a woman in her 70s who lost $65,300: "HE IS A BILLIONAIRE, SO HE CAN AFFORD TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME."

I was shocked to find out when I did a search about him on the Internet that he had SCAMMED several elderly ladies with a whole lot of money from each and every one of them. To top it all, I also read on the Internet that he scammed some people, mostly men, with fake bitcoins, crypto, and deepfakes.

I AM BEGGING YOU, PRETTY PLEASE, TO HELP ME RECOVER THE MONEY THAT HE SCAMMED ME. HE IS A BILLIONAIRE, SO HE CAN AFFORD TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME. I DIDN’T MIND WHEN HE MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM, BUT THE MONEY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, AS I NEED IT FOR MY DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY.

sadly this isn't new or unusual, especially in the last decade. He was taken to an inpatient facility (again) for making threats irl (again), which is why there's been a respite from posting. He doesn't have any relationships beyond his elderly father who he is completely dependent on, and spends 24/7 in his basement.

1) This was a spam network shared internally at Bluesky for investigation on spam likes. 2) | misclicked/unclicked, but a harassment bot picked it up 3) I continue to be harassed about it a year later
I'm offering a genuine response that I don't see the need for this continually to be raised.
