The Bates family moved from Tennessee to Nicodemus, Kansas during the Black homesteading movement. African Americans successfully homesteaded in all the Great Plains states. The Nicodemus Town Company was formed in 1877 by 7 Kansans (1 white & 6 Black). Today 45 descendants reside in the community.

I keep seeing memes like "America is 1930s Germany."

No America is America.
Slavery, Jim Crow, Japanese Internment, Operation Wet Back, and what's happening now are all American as Apple Pie.

We don't have to look elsewhere for fascism it's always been here.

I don't think they're ready to educate themselves on the many non-Black ethnicities in Africa. For E.g., African-born Koreans in Kenya, Ivory Coast, proudly identify as Africans. The world is much more than their narrow mindset.
It’s cute seeing Americans debate whether the son of an Ugandan is Ugandan.

Don’t they realize the ridiculousness of it all?

To "upset the left" is the chief aim of many on the right. It's time to stop getting upset and to even flat out ignore at times. Stop responding to them. This in turn very much upsets the people who live to "own the libs".

Some U.S. media (such as the Washington Post here) trace U.S.-Iranian animosity back to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, conveniently forgetting that the CIA helped overthrow a democratically elected Iranian government in 1953, forcing Iranians to endure decades of the Shah’s brutal rule.

Jan 6th was just a continuation of the Civil War. The confederates won, because America *refused* to let them lose.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

The most fundamental characteristic of fascism is its cult of violence. Where there is no pre-existing violence to exploit, violence must be manufactured.

Some quotes lose their magic with repetition but this one by Maya Angelou remains ever green:

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. People know themselves much better than you do. That's why it's important to stop expecting them to be something other than who they are"

This is insanity! Anyway, I hope they kept some for Musk, Trump, Miller, and all the other anti-everything cultists. Sharing is caring.
RFK Jr celebrated the release of the MAHA report by downing raw milk shooters in the White House with influencer Paul Saladino. Hazards of raw milk include Listeria, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Yersinia, E. coli O157:H7, and now-- avian flu.

They always start with "I like Trump, but..." or "I voted for Trump(three times), but...". It's like they're apologizing to the cult for whining for something they absolutely voted for.

Some US commentators love to call the US a 'third world country' because of the current regime. Guess what? In some of these so-called 'third world countries', the dictator & his family would have flown to another country by now. That's how angry the people would have been.
I'm genuinely shocked there isn't a huge angry mob surrounding The White House 24/7.
