Ya I'm not saying the bus is bad. I want a lot more buses and trains. Just the ratio I'm debating with fellow urbanists.

Worst of both worlds between a train and a bus. Not the worst of all possible worlds...

Rubber wheeled guided metros are the worst of both worlds. All the efficiency losses and micro plastics of a bus and all the construction costs of a train.

It is easily the best rubber wheeled vehicle. But it's still rubber wheeled. And heavy rubber wheeled vehicles are the worst offenders when it comes to micro plastics and road wear.

Trains cost that much more than busses because they are that much better than busses.

The weakest link of any active transportation infrastructure network is where it falls apart at the intersections.

You can have all the raised, separated, straight bike lanes you want, but if all protections are surrendered at the conflict zones (intersections), safety and efficiency are lost.

Dogs barking.

ISP just gave another warning, ordering protesters to disperse or potentially face chemical weapons or "pain compliance techniques."

Also contains parking reform! This is a preliminary map of Chicagoland based on the People Over Parking Act provision.

Ellis describes this incident:
As the agents drove away from a confrontation in Little Village on Thursday, “they pointed a pepper ball gun and then a real gun at … Chris Gentry, a combat veteran who was lawfully standing on the side of the road ‘bang, bang,’ and ‘you’re dead liberal.'”

I suspect they will be slightly more raised in a few weeks (though likely still less than ideal). That's how they installed the ones in Lincoln Park and came back later to raise them later on.
