We’ve done some good things in our first year in office, but we must do better to re-connect with the communities we serve and give a much clearer sense of our purpose and values.

That’s how we succeed. That’s how we will re-unite the country.

We need to get Anas Sarwar elected as First Minister next May. I spoke to the Sunday Mail about how I will help do that, from day one as Deputy Leader.

Lifting two-child cap can help Anas Sarwar become FM, says Lucy Powell
The Labour deputy leadership candidate told the Sunday Mail she still believes Sarwar's party can come out on top in May's Holyrood election.

Still internalising the Vance Munich speech. A sitting Vice President goes to Europe, barely says a word about the despotic murderous regime which has invaded its neighbour, and instead lectures his allies about freedom of speech. It’d be funny if it weren’t so serious.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

At the heart of Canadian national memory is the awareness that Canadians twice came to the UK's aid in world wars years before the Americans showed up.

It will not be forgottem if the Brits now hide in a corner and say nothing when Canada faces existential threats.
Would be nice to see some UK politicians speaking up in support of Canada, which is blameless in this and with which Britain has far closer ties than it does with the US.

Nobody hold their breath.

Pretty much exactly 80 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, the richest man in the world uses the Nazi salute at the inauguration of his close ally as US president. What should rationally not be surprising is still so deeply shocking and simply difficult to comprehend.
