Golfing and loving life in Toledo, Ohio. I used to write things about Austin FC.
Should’ve made the drive, but I am watching #AustinFC for the first time this season. And Kei Kamara has signed for yet another team not in ATX?

Knowing how much of a family guy Ben is, and how much the Iowa/NW Missouri area means to him, I’d be shocked if he left the state with the Iowa job about to open.

Would love to see the list of schools he turned down, over several years, to create a comfortable move for his kids to Des Moines.
BTW, a year removed from the unlikely outcomes of Pat Kelsey to Louisville and Mark Pope to Kentucky, I think Ben McCollum is the dark horse at Indiana.

Ben McCollum getting his March Moment in year one with not even his best group of D-II players is such a Ben McCollum thing to do. Drake Bulldogs, hop on the bandwagon!

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

Have been out of the game for a little bit, but I’ll crawl out of my hole to say that this makes absolutely no sense.

MLS without ETR is a worse product, full stop. These guys are every bit as valuable to the league’s growth as any player, team or fan base.
For 10 years I got to do a podcast about the league I love with some of my best friends in the world.

Today I am sad. Probably will be tomorrow, too.

No way I’m sleeping tonight. “I almost blacked out.” Most of Ohio was right there with Jack Sawyer. What a play. This team is a movie.

Starting to think the answer to “What happened against Michigan?” is as simple as putting this line under true pressure. No time to do anything downfield.

Incredible defensive football makes for incredibly stressful football. Living on the margins.

So many Ohio State teams that could have gone on a run like this if given the opportunity. All top 6 during the season, suffered losses and came back to win their bowl game. This format was made for us.

I actually love how clean it is to have equally weighted Peach, Rose and Sugar Bowls as the only games on New Year’s Day. Feels very old and new at the same time. And has me in a wormhole of crazy national championships.

This is actually my favorite kind of round to watch because it’s so relatable. A good reminder that while you’re so alone in the moment, everybody who tees it up competitively knows the feeling of not having your best and having to come to terms on the fly. Way to battle, @ngschu.nolayingup.com.

I’m not sure when it will be, but Ben will get his March Moment and it’s going to be glorious. Infectious energy, great recruiter. Saw the early seeds of this offense from 2014-16, been dying to see it at this level.
Ben McCollum’s beautiful, pattern-free offense is shredding Miami to bits right now. It’s cinema. No two possessions look the same, but every possession gets a quality look.

I’ve been looking for a place to park my thoughts and @norlander.bsky.social finally convinced me this is the one. It feels more like Twitter than Twitter has in a very long time. Follow for golf, sports and who knows what else.
