Trump: "I can create peace with tariffs. I'm using them for a lot of different reasons. If that power was taken away, it would be a terrible terrible day for our country. I would say many of the things I've done could be eradicated ... these are enemies of the country that are pursuing that lawsuit"

This is the game we needed. Should have been in game 1 but here we are. Now we just need to keep on the gas through Saturday. Let some team in 2030-whatever talk about the Phillies in 2025.

[email protected] - The scene of the Blue Jays celebration is surreal. The players are being interviewed in the midst of a deafening party, music is blasting, the questions are all like "how good does it feel to have won?"

Technical glich or not, Miller said the verboten out loud: They think the president has plenary-i.e. unlimited--power. They believe he has dictatorial power.

Needless to say, he's full of shit.

I imagine this clip will get played at his trial.

Trump has been publicly and repeatedly threatening people for years but still feels entitled to point the finger at anyone if it serves his needs. He's also never apologized for anything he's said no matter how ugly or disgusting his words were.

It's my understanding that authoritarianism and incompetent governing is a common combination.

The only sense in which an authoritarian society is merit-based is the "merit" of having or acquiring power. And people who *are* competent are seen as threats by people with power.

It's difficult at times to hold both "this admin is doing lasting and serious damage to our institutions and the globe" and "this admin is full of the most bafflingly incompetent idiots you've ever seen who fall over themselves like a Vaudeville act constantly."

The duality of man is incredible.

People believe “empathy fatigue” when it’s a privileged asshole mad at folks denied housing

But not

“People are FUCKING EXHAUSTED” at being asked to find empathy when it really means

“ hey please be mad someone is being treated we actually value is being treated like you”
