I’ve been campaigning for Travelodge to resurface its car park – this is now complete. They have resurfaced the entire car park and replaced the drainage to stop the awful potholes and flooding. Steve’s also been campaigning for this for 2 years and is pleased to see it be a success.

Brexit has smashed a £90bn black hole in our economy. So I asked the Chancellor (and reported in the Guardian) if she’d join several other Labour MPs in supporting Liberal Democrat proposals for a UK EU customs union. She told me it was a good try!

This week, I asked Members from the Office for Budget Responsibility about their prediction that the government will reduce SEND funding by £2.2 billion in 2029/30. The Department of Education said that the OBR's predictions were "fundamentally wrong".

SES will be spending £600,000 between January and April to fix Betchworth water tower. After hundreds of people suffered frequent power cuts and loss to water, I spoke to UK Power Networks and SES water to get this sorted.

Phone reception has improved in Dorking after I raised the issue to VodafoneThree.I met them again yesterday because other areas are still experiencing problems. In Walliswood they’ve recently deployed a new site which has extended coverage and are working to do the same in Ewhurst.

Travelodge Dorking is resurfacing its carpark. I’ve been pushing for this since my election; writing to the CEO and social media. It will take four weeks, and the drainage will be replaced to stop the flooding.

I spoke to BBC Radio Surrey this morning about audiology services returning to Dorking Community Hospital this week. Hundreds of my constituents were left stranded without warning after its abrupt closure at the end of May due to an IT error.
