Pinning my favourite try of all time to my profile so I know there's always something nice to look at on BlueSky.
Call me a cynic, but I don't think the offie in Ripley, fourteen miles away, will deliver in ten minutes.

You don't get points for loving animals. You only lose them for the opposite.

Also she was racist.

Yeah, that was really good. I mean it's a kids show - don't expect Cormac McCarthy. But it's better looking, more dramatic, and more interesting than Ares.

When I was done stuck Legacy on just to watch the opening. Ended up watching it all. Mystifying to me how this world didn't take off. Gorgeous.

Enjoying Tron Uprising about a hundred times more than Tron Ares.

"THIRTEEN dwarves?"
"And a hobbit."
"What's that?"
"It's like a mini dwarf."
"That's a lot, mate."
"Yeah."
"What you calling them?"
"Ori and Nori."
"Yeah?"
"Oin and Gloin."
"Okay."
"Balin and Dwalin."
"So you're just..."
"Fili and Kili."
"Yeah."
"Bifur and Bofur."
"Please stop."
"And Bombur..."

This is either "we will put shit in the way to stop them fucking with the statue" or "we will give them a platform to stand on to make it easier to fuck with the statue" and I need to know which.

"Avatar actually does have cultural impact because each time the movies come up you say how little impact they've had" is the "atheism is kind of a religion" of film discourse.

Only just noticed that Puma are doing Derby shirts again, which means they're tributing the ones they wore when I moved to England. A classic.

"Byron is writing Psalms? BYRON? Jesus wept, mate."

(slight paraphrase)
Letter from James Hogg to John Murray, 26 Dec 1814:

Dear Murray
What the deuce have you made of my excellent poem that you are never publishing it while I am starving for want of money and cannot even afford a Christmas goose to my friends?…

I again urge you to ask which is more likely: that millions of members of the public have gone insane, or that a comparatively tiny number of people at the heart of media and politics - who all know each other and often work together - have driven *themselves and each other* crazy.
As previously noted, below:

Dogs posing perfectly on bed looking at me.
Me reaching for phone to take a pic.
Dogs leaping off bed and getting in my face.

I first heard Carol of the Bells through American media in the early 2000s (probably The West Wing season 2) and with no smartphone to identify it for me searched for years to find out what it was called since it wasn't a part of any British Christmas I knew.

Anyway, today found out it's Ukrainian.
Following the King's address, the combined choir of "Songs for Ukraine" and the Royal Opera House Choir performed the English version of the Ukrainian song "Shchedryk," known as "Carol of the Bells."

Fellowship of the Ring is a Christmas movie.
December 25th. The day the Fellowship departs Rivendell to destroy the One Ring.

Whatever you celebrate, may you have the courage to take the first steps to defy and endure against the dark, and rekindle light into the world.
