Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

I am aware of reports of another killing at the hands of federal agents in Minnesota.
 
These deaths are tragic. There is no reason American streets should be occupied by a paramilitary force.
 
I am fighting to get them out of our communities. This cannot stand.

"The second fatal shooting by DHS agents in Minneapolis this month demands a thorough, professional homicide investigation by local and state authorities who are actually qualified to carry out that task. DHS leaders and agents have shown they are more interested in politically spinning the facts to escape accountability, which is one of many reasons why tensions in Minnesota and across the country are dangerously on edge. The DHS spending bill, which I opposed along with the entire Connecticut House Delegation this past week, will simply perpetuate the status quo rather than rein in DHS rogue behavior. The Senate still has a chance to vote to restore civilized norms in law enforcement, and for the sake of the country, they should act accordingly." ###

Connecticut Senate leadership — Democrats Marty Looney and Bob Duff — calls Pretti’s killing “cold-blooded murder”
"We are shocked, appalled, and angered by today's fatal shooting of a man by ICE agents in Minnesota. This tragic loss of life is yet another demonstration of a dangerous escalation in federal tactics and a disturbing manifestation of authoritarian power. No immigration enforcement operation should end in death, nevermind a cold-blooded murder like the initial video indicates. This is not who we are as a nation. "We call on our Republican colleagues in the General Assembly to join us in condemning this violent abuse of federal power. Now is the time for all elected officials, regardless of party, to stand together against the dangerous buildup of secret police and militarization of immigration enforcement and to speak with moral clarity against federal overreach that costs innocent lives. "Unfortunately, based on past experience, we expect our Republican colleagues will once again remain silent on this clear abuse of power, or worse, attempt to deflect attention to entirely unrelated matters rather than confronting what is plainly wrong.
