Records show Lindell has recently lived in Lufkin, Texas, and been registered to vote in the Lone Star State since early 2023. In a January court filing, Lindell is described as “a Texas citizen.”

The bill was referred to the committee I chair, I won’t be scheduling it for a hearing. We do important work in SenateHHS and listen to Minnesotans who come to us with urgent needs for better access to mental health care. Trivializing a serious issue to make a point is disrespectful & disheartening.

The policy starts Monday and applies to already awarded grants. The UofM received a $59.2 million grant in *December*. Republicans just defunded cancer research in MN and blew a huge hole in our state budget. This isn’t a potential future problem. It’s here, now, and devastating.

A president can’t end a department established by statute thru an executive order. Federal departments and agencies created by Congress thru legislation can only be abolished or significantly altered thru new legislation. So, neither the US Dept of Ed or USAID are abolished.
