Wish more doctors would upskill on ADHD so that many people (like myself) didn't have to spend years on anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds that didn't actually improve things that much, and instead delayed the correct treatment of the issue.

A decade of my life on bad meds was wasted time.

My mother could not answer the phone and was bedridden. A “favourite”* interaction: persistent texts from a no-reply NHS number with no other contact asking for her weight. Which I could not get because she was bedridden.

At one point when trying to look after my late mother, I had 21 different phone numbers to deal with, primarily across various bits of NHS with a sprinkling of social services. All of them expected me to know their precise responsibilities by telepathy and none talked to each other

Many people who rely on screen readers crank them up really fast, way beyond 2x.

Personally I like watching a variety of YouTube videos and nearly always at 2x, but I mostly listen to audiobooks and podcasts at standard speed. Depends on topic and purpose maybe?

Unfortunately the billionaire funded online radicalisation of white people in the UK is growing and instead of getting to the root cause that endangers us all we’re being told they have legitimate concerns and government trying to give them what they want with every policy announcement

Correction: I missed that the new digital dot gov #PlainLanguage guides copied the section on testing from the now-deceased plainlanguage.gov

My other two objections are still in force:
- no definition of plain language
- plain language is across all channels not only digital

1. The old version had the best, user-centred, definition of plain language

Yes indeed. I was impressed. The only snag I encountered was that I got nagged by repeated no-reply texts from GP as there was no way to tell them myself I’d booked at the pharmacy and I assume the web site doesn’t tell them either.
