Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot
It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Yet more evidence that the crucial Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC is weakening.
Bad news for our climate future.
More reason to finally get serious about ending fossil fuel use.
As fast as we can.
"The results also indicate that current #climate models underestimate the magnitude of the observed changes. This is caused most likely by a too simplistic representation of deep mixing processes in the ocean in numerical models"

Indoor farming sounds like an awesome solution to the problems of outdoor farming, like bad weather and nighttime. And it is a nice solution for niche crops like lettuce and weed. But it’s not going to produce the staple crops that feed the world.

When we launched Global Gateway for Africa, we aimed to invest €150 billion in the continent.

4 years on, we’re well on track to exceed that goal.

With 120 billion of investments for Africa. And more coming.

For good, local jobs ↓

Europe's electricity system is changing rapidly and often in places that don't make the headlines.

Look at Estonia - not that long ago and fossil fuels dominated around 90% of electricity generation.

Today solar and wind eat more and more into the share of fossil fuel-generated electricity.

My Mum was in a care home for 3 years before her death. I saw her develop a social circle of those she wanted to be with depsite her reduced cognitive ability. I saw her develop relationships with her carers. I would have fought the forced closure of her home tooth and nail. We trusted them 1/2
If this is what happens when Reform runs a council, just imagine Farage running the country.

Care homes closed and vulnerable people abandoned.

We cannot let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.

A building material that supports some of our rarest wildlife + acts as a carbon sink - reed beds need to be cut several times a year in order to remain as wetlands - so using them as building material preserves habitat for wetland species.
So much building material.

An effect sometimes felt most keenly in small, rural rivers where there's much less water to dilute, for instance, the amount of chemicals, cleaning products + medicines you might find in a single sewage discharge + where the river may pass through pesticide treated fields.
