Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume/
breathes a life of gathering gloom;/
sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,/
sealed in the stone-cold tomb
ok, so this is something I've thought a fair bit about, I've never been a practicing Christian but like, I know the lore

it's literally on a narrative level flashing forward to the death of a person while celebrating their birth and foregrounding them as a baby

it's just obviously morbid!

Pylons for life.
We navigated by The Hum. Transmission tower to transmission tower, compelled to walk below its prophetic song. The electric ley of the land manifesting in sound, steel and porcelain insulators. Writing itself as map tattooed on our bones. – Signal-catcher Rose, ex-Pylon Person #VOH

We're watching the wholesale burning of every scrap of dignity afforded to trans people in the UK, their rights, their medical services, their employment, their place within society, their bodily functions.

It is a disgrace, and a disgusting stain on the government and media of this country.

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

I still have whole body shivers every time I listen to BGC. His recent show in Hackney brought me to tears and I am ecstatic I'll get another chance at Rewire festival in April. Absolutely unreal talent.

Welcome back to #fossilfriday

Here is the crinoid Arthroacantha carpenteri with a Platycerid snail attached. These snails are Coprophagous which means they ate fecal matter. The snail would attached to the anal chimney of the crinoid and would feed on the waste.

Jurassic Park Belemnites steampunk crossover where DNA is extracted from fossil sepia drawing!
DYK, that sepia ink was originally made from squid ink?

DYK, that it is possible to recover the remains of ink from fossil Belemnites?

DYK, that Mary Anning discovered this?

DYK, that you can reconstitute that fossil squid ink and use it to draw?

DYK, this was en vogue in the 19th century?

Bornite is great, but #molybdenite is not copper! I kid (kind of)! A soft, silver, greasy, hexagonal mineral that can look like JiffyPop, foil-wrapped leftovers, or metallic graphite. It can handle high-stress/high-temps, & it's anti-corrosive. Those seem like good qualities here & now!
