Would anyone who does neutron scattering be interested in corrosion-proof sample cans (Al and TiZr)? If so, please drop me an email at a.clancy[at]ucl.ac.uk and let me help you ... by first helping me.

👉 Nobel Prize or Retraction due to an 'experiment' hand-drawn by 'scientists' working in theoretical chemistry? Elsevier: please decide!

I know a guy who
alloys steel
He makes it stronger

He don't use carbon

While the aim of science technically isn't to see how much of a grant you can spend without going over on the last day, I'm still feeling pretty cheery after hitting £0.18 under the limit. Built up a little stockpile of solvent-resistant syringes to hide in my office too #chemsky

Anyone who cares about nanoscience should know that registration for the @rsc-cnn.bsky.social Annual Symposium is open. Bargain of a conference (£120) in London's incredible Burlington House, with fantastic speakers including my old PhD boss Milo Shaffer from @imperialchemistry.bsky.social

Why did Word have to make the painful process of grant writing even more excruciating by changing the keyboard shortcuts for subscript and superscript? Chemists everywhere are surely cursing as loudly as me. #chemsky

UCL's Andrea Sella to return his 2014 Michael Faraday prize to the Royal Society over its continued refusal to censure Elon Musk. Sella won the award as 'an exemplary science communicator' (in the words of the RS's spokesperson). Its return too is exemplary science communication.
