Right now Sinn Féin are the biggest barrier to a future free from Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael ideology.
When the lead opposition party are dropping the ball this badly they have some ownership of the current state of affairs. #spéirgorm

Saoirse McHugh: There is no urban-rural divide on a fox hunting ban
Polling conducted by Ireland Thinks shows that 72% are against fox hunting, while only 2% of us have ever engaged in it, writes Saoirse McHugh

Eight people detained for allegedly protesting in support of Palestine are currently undertaking the largest hunger strike in UK prisons in over 40 years. The strikers need international solidarity to show the world they are not alone.

Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael are selling out our sovereignty to private corporations.
They're creating a parallel justice system ONLY for corporations.

Corporations can and will sue the state for interfering with their "legitimate expectation" of making profits.

Why is there so little coverage of this?

Scandalously at 1am, the government has just pushed through a law with far reaching ramifications.

It allows them to sign up to a parallel court process only accessible by corporations. There they can sue Ireland if we do anything to interfere with their "right" to profit.

It's a yearly scandal, now decades long.

Nearly €100 million to prop up the horse and greyhound racing industries.

More than 3 times the amount of core funding given to the 87 different sports bodies.

We need rid of these cruel industries that only exist to profit the wealthy few.

Do you agree?

FG, FF, SF and II all vote to give €100 million of public money to the horse and greyhound racing industry.

That's three times more money than the core funding for all our sports!

€20 million is going to the cruel greyhound racing industry.

Shameful.

I like that Jennifer Whitmore TD kicks ass so nicely. She [like me] is against fox-hunting & is a conservationist. Her attacker, despite his ‘save the foxes’, is pro-hunting. I was brought up to believe torturing animals is both wrong, & non-Christian.

And, of course, the problem for people like me is I find that I do not trust them not to lurch right even if they say all the lovely socialistic things we long to hear.
We heard all that from Labour and the Greens. What we got was more of the same with a wee tweak here and there.

They will not 'steal' enough FFFG voters no matter how many 'rural pursuits' they support or 'concerns' they espouse about immigrants/Trans people/ latest clickbait bogieman distraction.

All they achieve is losing the Left.
Even after seeing the vote exists.

And FFFG can continue as always.

Why do Sinn Féin insist on squandering every single potential for election success that could build a genuine alternative by lurching rightward at every opportunity?

Time and time again they fail to see the centre to right is well served and it's the centre to left that is crying out for change.
