In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

She has also accepted GEO lobby $$$ for her political campaigns.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...

As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

“Silent Spring,” which exposed the dangers of DDT and other pesticides, was powerful enough to activate emotions, never florid, and willing to use the tropes of pastoral Americana for all they were worth. Bill McKibben reflects on Rachel Carson’s classic.

Her reporting was quickly attacked by the industry she called into question, setting the playbook for companies that profited from tobacco, opioids, and fossil fuels.

GOP Rep. Guthrie just proposed a bill that would raise his constituents’ energy bills by $309 and gut the program that’s given $1.7 billion in clean energy investments to his district.

Why? The oil and gas donors who gave $500,000 to his campaign asked for it.

Shame on him.

In the years since, the United States spent roughly $10 trillion on the so-called "war on terror."

Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds in climate, health care, housing, and education?

Neros, not heroes.
Nero is remembered as an ineffectual, neglectful, malevolent and brutal leader. Nero killed his own family members, set Rome on fire to rebuild it in his own image. He played music while he watched it burn, according to Suetonius.
