It was great to watch our very own Alex Edwards present alongside UAL’s Lucy Blackwell at LTUX Brighton this morning.

The talk, ‘Putting the user at the centre of your design system’ ran through how we helped UAL relaunch their design system earlier this year.

Proud parent post 👏

🚀 Our senior UX researcher Luke Hay spent two days running a hands-on usability testing workshop last week.

Tailored specifically for the needs of the client, he taught techniques on how to conduct successful user interviews, gather meaningful insights, and how they could apply it to their work.

A different angle of the same meeting, with several people talking and listening around the table, some taking notes. Two large windows and a coffee machine are in the background. A person sits on the back of a couch near a window, speaking and gesturing with hands during what appears to be a presentation. A laptop, cups, and papers are on the nearby table. A set of illustrated and handwritten cards laid out on a wooden table. The cards feature drawings and text referencing AI, pop culture figures like Godzilla and Carl Sagan, and decision-making scenarios. Three people near a window are smiling and laughing while seated at a table with leftover food, a milk carton, and coffee. One person is looking at their phone.

It’s enormous fun working with skilled devs.

I’ve been following along as Sam at @clearleft.com builds out the new website for @ermiltd.bsky.social.

It’s deeply impressive. Precise & specific, kinda like a watch maker.

A virtual masterclass of code… delivered one GitHub commit at a time :)

Some fascinating conversations as always. Systems maps - which I've known more as concept maps - particularly a spaghetti of verbs connecting nouns - can be indecipherable. But making them useful by drawing out the stories they tell is a power move.
