There are many first hand accounts and several videos. I haven’t seen any serious refutations.

Movies where the villain is a drug smuggler or a bank robber play in 2025 like quaint 1890’s illustrations of a child stealing a pie.

Just today a friend and I were wondering if the damage to the Constitution
(Executive Immunity, Chevron, Citizen’s United, no due process deportation, today’s ruling etc etc)
is so substantial we may need an entirely new governing document.
This country is thoroughly screwed for at least a generation. People haven't taken stock of how much damage has already been done. 2026 and 2028 won't magically fix this. It's going to be a long walk.

This is climate change.

This is what happens when fossil fuel companies pump pollution into our environment with FULL KNOWLEDGE that they would cause unnatural disasters like this dangerous heat dome — directly harming the health of both people and planet.

Why do we pretend heatwaves are fun – and ignore the brutal, burning reality? | Zoe Williams
The heatwave media formula is still extravagantly weird: all stock photos of ice-creams and suns with their hats on. It is time we recognised this extreme weather for exactly what it is, writes Zoe Wi...

The record heat hitting 150 million Americans and tens of million of Europeans is 100%, for sure, without question, caused by fossil fuel pollution/burning oil, gas, and coal.

“Every heatwave that is occurring today is hotter than it would have been without human-induced climate change.”
Heat waves are getting more dangerous with climate change — and we may still be underestimating them | CNN
The intensifying and expansive heat wave affecting around 150 million people in the United States from Wisconsin to Washington, DC, bears the hallmarks of human-caused global warming.

As the heat wave starts to hit, keep in mind:

1. Yes, it’s climate change (the weather dice are loaded)

2. It will get *vastly worse* soon unless pollution is cut rapidly now.

VITAL: Cuomo’s record on climate/jobs stinks, while Mamdani/Lander’s is excellent.

Scientists have been clear that we can't build any new fossil fuel projects if we want to avoid disastrous climate impacts.

And by increasing their funding of fossil fuel projects last year to *$869 billion,* big banks have been clear that they do not give a single fuck.
