i want to be clear about this: worker’s rights also includes the right to be free from racist or sexist or gendered abuse at your job.

what about the somali customers? good chance they were working class too. do they not deserve to live in a world where they can buy a snack without an assault on their dignity?

there is a certain condescension in the idea that “racism should be publicly unacceptable and come with consequences” is an attack on the “working class.”

i also believe in building a better world for workers. i also believe that all people are entitled to respect and dignity and that there ought to be social sanction for those who openly degrade others. you call me a “n*gger” to my face and i am not going to smile and shake your hand.

Sir, that farm was raided by government agents who disappeared people and their families can’t find them

Atlantic editor: So?

Sir, a woman screamed racial slurs at black people and said “I am a racist” as she was doing it

Atlantic editor: This calls to mind the brave words of Cesar Chavez-

Also remember that this is a chronic pattern with Trump & his regime. He did it with Zelenskyy during Trump 1. He did it when he lost in 2020. Trump and this regime is one of the most, if not THE MOST, flagrantly corrupt government in democratic history, let alone American history.

It’s a gangster government and there’s little outrage and no mainstream/corporate media coverage. Surprised and pleased that Indiana pushed back. North Carolina should take a lesson.

Just wondering. To advance World Socialism, may I assume there must also be more substantial barriers to disciplining employees for sexually and racially harassing other employees in the workplace? Do you have, perhaps, a list of what a good socialist should be wiling to endure for the Cause?

also it is extremely funny for the atlantic to put the paywall after the part where they describe her actions, but before the part where they offer any kind of defense. well i'm not giving you money but based on this she sounds like a fucking cunt and i would have come over that counter at her

i would also point out that this person's coworkers have the right to work in a safe environment, i.e. a place where people *aren't* actively being racist. if one of my colleagues started screaming slurs at *any* job, i absolutely would want something done about that!
