I was surprised to hear on the latest episode of @movieoubliette.bsky.social that "The Flight of Dragons" is known internationally (if at all) as a product of specifically American cinema, because I had never heard of it before they released their latest episode about it.

Not sure what the point of "Dead Birds" is. It's a big pet peeve of mine when movies choose to depict the Confederacy, but for no particular reason. It deliberately evokes the horrors of slavery and yet has absolutely nothing to say about it (save to spare us from caring about most of the victims).

I don't have any memory of watching "Don't Look Under the Bed" as a kid, but I must've at some point because when I watched it before listening to the new episode of @movieoubliette.bsky.social I seemed to know what was gonna happen just a sec or two before it happened. Heightened the eerie effect!
