Flat light, no mood, incoming thunderstorm. Then as the lightning started hitting the hills above me, magic happened. If the image looks soft it’s because of the torrential rain but well worth the soaking for this view.

The Welsh National War Memorial, Alexandra Gardens, Cathays Park, Cardiff, South Wales, UK. Designed by Sir Ninian Comper and unveiled 12 June 1928 by the Prince of Wales. The memorial commemorates the servicemen who died during the First World War.

As close as my camera gets to night. But the sky really was that color. Then it was time to head home.

Sunset Bay as the sun sinks into the ocean. The rocky beach leads you to the edge of the ocean where the golden sunset is reflected on the surf. The edges of the Bay frame the water and setting sun which peeks under the fluffy clouds as they streak across the horizon. The sky above reflects some pink before turning to a grayish blue amidst scattered clouds.
Sometimes Mother Nature's palette astounded me. Made it worth driving home after dark.
