This may sound corny, but practice gratitude on a regular basis.

It took me a long time to accept that 1) I had friends, 2) they thought of me when I wasn't around, and that 3) people cared about me.

That helped me through some *major* life stuff and helped me feel better about myself.

No preference. I’m a sucker for folkloric tradition bc of how timeless the warnings of dark fairy tales can be, giving a sense these spirits and their lessons might be real. Watching 12,000 runners fill Portland’s streets, last Sunday, makes it clear: no one flocks to a “war zone.” If the city were truly unsafe, families, volunteers, and spectators wouldn’t line the course. The only battlefield here is against misinformation.
