Trying to (re)build my following a bit before abandoning the other place entirely, so I'm going to post a few samples of my work to show what I'm about. Hopefully this will make connections with others with similar interests.

First up: constitutional protection of children's rights.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Since Israel signed a ceasefire deal with Lebanon, Israel has:

- killed 280 people
- wounded 625 people
- violated the agreement around 4,500 times

That’s in under a year

If a federal judge, appointed by Trump, can call him “simply untethered to facts,” our White House press corps can as well.

In sum, the President is certainly entitled "a great level of deference," Newsom II, 141
F.4th at 1048, in his determination that he "is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws
of the United States." 10 U.S.C. § 12406(3). But "a great level of deference" is not equivalent to
ignoring the facts on the ground. As the Ninth Circuit articulated, courts must "review the
President's determination to ensure that it reflects a colorable assessment of the facts and law

within a 'range of honest judgment.'" Id. at 1051 (quoting Sterling, 278 U.S. at 399). Here, this
Court concludes that the President did not have a "colorable basis" to invoke § 12406(3) to
federalize the National Guard because the situation on the ground belied an inability of federal
law enforcement officers to execute federal law. Id. at 1051-52. The President's determination
was simply untethered to the facts.

Trump Judge says the President’s version of the facts in Portland was not tethered to reality, and that the sending of National Guard troops there violated Oregon’s sovereignty and the 10th Amendment citing all kinds of historical sources. A…Trump….Judge. s3.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

MSF staff are universally understood to be engaged in an essentially sacred form of work. For a state to nonetheless continuously murder them is a testament to a truly unthinkable degree of depravity.

This morning, an attack carried out by Israeli forces killed Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff member, Omar Hayek, and seriously injured four others. The attack took place on a street where our teams were waiting to take a bus to the MSF field hospital in Deir al Balah, Gaza.

All staff were wearing MSF vests, clearly identifying them as medical humanitarian workers.
We express deep sorrow and outrage over the killing, which occurs less than two weeks after another MSF colleague, Hussein Alnajjar, was killed by the Israeli forces, in Deir Al Balah.

Our thoughts are with Omar’s family and colleagues at this tragic time. Omar, 42 years old, is the fourteenth MSF colleague to be killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023.

Don was a real-life hero who had a staggering impact on the lives of countless young people who had been let down by other adults in their lives. His work was a living illustration of the vindication of children's rights. He fought the good fight. RIP.

Terribly sad to hear about Manchán Magan's death. I went to his "Arán agus ím" show a couple of years ago. It was completely unique - just like the man himself. The saying "ní beidh a leithéid arís ann" seems especially apt.

The Straight Road cycle lane is awful and leaves people stranded while trying to cross a busy road.

Meanwhile, the same road (N22) has light segregation, an inner kerb, and a toucan x'ing a few km away.

Please sign this petition to call for safer cycling to Bcollig.

SORRY, YOU'LL FORGIVE ME FOR ASKING, BUT HAVE WE ALL OF A SUDDEN DECIDED THAT IT IS WRONG TO COLLECTIVELY PUNISH A CIVILIAN POPULATION FOR THE ACTIONS OF A BODY THAT CLAIMS TO SPEAK AND ACT ON THEIR BEHALF?
Kallas suggested she did not support attempts to exclude Israel from Eurovision, after Spain became the latest country to say it would boycott the song contest if Israel took part.

Asked about the issue, she said EU measures were intended to put pressure on the Israeli government to change course on Gaza, not to punish Israel or the Israeli people.

“All these steps that go to the direction of punishing Israeli people, I think are wrong and we are not really proposing them,” she said.

BREAKING: Al-Ghafri Tower, currently the highest building in Gaza City, was just bombed and levelled to the ground by Israeli warplanes.

This is part of Israel's efforts to ethnically cleanse the entire population of the city and forcibly remove them to southern Gaza
