I absolutely loved that game since it introduced the RTS genre, but even as I kid I thought the UX is janky, and yearned for a game with multiselect.
When C&C came out, I played the hell out of it, and looked down on WC2 because you could only select 9 units at a time. 😄

Dune 2 still looks and sounds good, but ouch is it rough to play these days. It's actually pretty crazy how long it took the RTS genre to work out the now seemingly obvious user interface improvements.
Never played Dune 2000 but based on the intro sequences alone - the Dune II intro still sounds and looks good
