As I mentioned on stream a few times now, @spookydoorway.bsky.social are releasing a new game Seance of Blake Manor, and it looks sick as hell. It's also nearly Halloween.

So, for Halloween I will be doing a long stream of SoBM, ideally from start to finish! (This isn't sponsored, just fun ideas)

HEY FOLKS!

Now I am back from Japan I wanted to do a proper *I'M LOOKING FOR WORK* post.

Reviews, previews, features, podcasts, on-camera stuff, online, in print... I can do it all! And have been doing it all for like six years!

If you have a beat on any opportunities, please let me know.

attacking the innate human rights of a group doesn't solve ANY ISSUE we have today.

So IF trans people or immigrants or whatever WERE ever erased from a country (if even possible) then a new scapegoat will be next. And on and on.

We NEED to defend each other so we CAN fix things

If you are willing to throw away entire groups of people to protect your insular strategy that will only protect you instead of protecting everyone then I don’t want your leaders and I sure as hell don’t want to be associated with you.
talleststone.bsky.social
I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

Capsule art for the idle game Familiar Findings. It depicts the protagonist Avia, a white haired witch, holding a grimoire. A two tailed cat is being conjured from the grimoire. A red dragon is peering over Avia's shoulder. In the centre of the image, the Familiar Findings logo is present.

"It looks like a delightful, charming, and genuinely innovative take on the idle genre, prioritizing your relaxation over a constant grind[...] It promises a small, quiet, and satisfying kind of magic."

A lovely piece from @indieinsights.bsky.social.

Procedural level generation is pretty important to our game to give players a unique map every time they play. Implementing this without bugs is a different challenge... 😒

Poster showing a pink/red octopus with a cute face. The background is a white and blue water cartoon-like graphic. The text reads: Would you walk away from Omelas? An Ursula Le Guin Themed Creative Writing Workshop, 11th October, 4 pm, online. In this workshop, led by science fiction writer, poet, and philosophy lecturer Dr Rachel Handley, you will be invited to explore Le Guin's short stories and related themes. There will be opportunities to respond to writing prompts based on Le Guin's and other's work throughout the workshop. The workshop will be very interactive, and writers at all levels are very welcome to attend. You'll also have the chance to read out what you've written during the workshop.

"Transgender for everyone" is such a lazy god damn thing to claim, like it's just insulting everyone's intelligence. Nobody believes it, it's just such an incomprehensibly stupid thing to say, nobody suggests such a policy.

What would that even entail? Mandatory transition for everyone? Yeah, sure.
