Reform UK Kent Councillor and Cabinet member Chris Hespe would rather save Adolf Hitler from a burning building than a trans person.

There’s more.

Badenoch is nasty, bigoted and desperate, same as Jenrick, same as their party. Every time either one opens their mouth, they take the Tories a step closer to extinction.

Badenoch: "While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China built five nuclear reactors."

A perfect summary of conservative idiocy. Glorifying authoritarian post-communism for its efficiency while vilifying democracy for seeking nuance and respect.

It is the Right who hate their own countries.

The UAE is an authoritarian autocracy, a petro-state with no income tax for citizens, to bribe them for the lack of democratic voice or free speech

It is 85% migrant, a segregated society with a ban on integration in principle and practice, few rights, equal opportunities, nor voice for incomers

It helps to be able to spell the country you say only you are competent enough to run.
Goody-bag merch from Tory Conference branded "When Labour negotiates Britian loses" and signed "Kemi Badenoch".

Utterly despicable.

This Israeli government decision to host Tommy Robinson will widen the growing gulf between the Netanyahu government and the British public, including the broad majority of Jews in Britain (3/4 of whom dsapproved of Netanyahu, before this new link to this anti-Muslim racist UK far right convict).

A message to all our communities from @mancitycouncil.bsky.social following yesterday’s horrific attack on the Heaton Park Synagogue.
A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR COMMUNITIES
We are shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific antisemitic terrorist attack that took place yesterday at the Heaton Park Synagogue in our city. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone in the Jewish community who is affected by this appalling act of violence.

We know that many in our communities may understandably be feeling anxious and scared. Manchester is a proud, diverse, and inclusive city. An attack on one community is felt by us all. In this moment of grief, we reaffirm our commitment to each other - to stand together as one strong, resilient and inclusive city.

Now more than ever, we must stand united. We urge all residents to show solidarity, compassion, and resilience in the face of hatred. Together, we will continue to build a city founded on respect, peace, and mutual understanding.

We are working closely with Greater Manchester Police and community leaders to ensure the safety of all our residents and to make sure that Manchester remains a place where everyone can live without fear. Increased support and reassurance patrols are being provided where needed, and we encourage anyone with concerns or information to come forward.

This is a time for all of us - of all backgrounds, faiths and communities - to stand together in defiance of hate and violence. We come together as one city to honour those affected, to support our Jewish neighbours, and to show that Manchester will always stand united in the face of division.

HOPE not hate condemn the appalling, violent attack at a synagogue in Manchester which has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Our thoughts are with the Jewish community and all affected.

Motion passed unamended. This morning we’ve shown that what we do as @manchesterlabour.bsky.social is rooted in our communities, and that we seek to empower those communities. Great to see the Labour government putting an emphasis on community empowerment too.

Petulant Lib Dem amendment, which complains about our motion playing party politics, while the amendment itself plays party politics. Moved by a man who tried to block the Withington development. Voted down. 🚮

Final motion this morning recognises how @manchesterlabour.bsky.social is delivering more council and social homes across the city, including in Withington. Supported by a Labour government, we will continue to deliver the housing that Mancunians need. 🏡 👏🏻 ❤️ 🌹
crispeater.bsky.social
Cracking speech in support of the motion from my fab ward colleague Councillor Angela Gartside. Lists the many amazing community groups and events in Withington Ward, which we have long supported and will continue to support. 👏🏻 ❤️

Now a motion moved by @bevcraig.bsky.social celebrating our Pride in Manchester, ensuring everyone feels welcome and can play a part in making our city better. Commits us to continue working with our communities, and celebrating our local community champions.

Emergency motion welcoming the £80m to be received by some of our most deprived communities, thanks to the Labour government’s Pride in Place programme. Motion and speakers emphasise the importance of local communities getting to decide how the money is spent, via neighbourhood boards.

Now we’ve heard from Shefali Kapoor, Councillor Julie Reid and local schoolchildren about the fantastic impact on families in need of the Council’s Holiday Activity Fund over the school holidays. That’s the difference a Labour council, supported by a Labour government. ❤️ 🌹
