One of my more "traditional" opinions is that books are one of the best mediums to transmit information.

This is not to say that books or even text is superior, but there's a reason why cable TV's original format is dying while books are still being published.

It's absolutely killing me that the author's middle name is *Chatterton*

"Oh boy, here comes Sir Yap-A-Lot again with their horrible takes"
I love writing one single article over and over again every month

My personal opinion is that there are no aliens, no extraterrestrial life.

However. I think it's incredibly stupid to not TRY. I would absolutely LOVE to be wrong because that is the most exciting day of our collective human existence.

Prove me wrong! I'll be just as excited, genuinely! :)

Possibly one of the biggest insults to public-facing-and-serving institutions of knowledge right now is how AI is so heavily dependent on them for their data, just to fuck it up in the process & struggle to teach people.

The resources are RIGHT THERE. The libraries and encyclopedias are RIGHT THERE

We got all kinds of flavors here, like:

"Would you love me if I was a worm (appearance)?"

"Would you love me if I was a worm (disability)?"

"Would you love me if I was a worm (social outcast)?"

"Would you love me if I was a worm (traumatized history)?"

For anyone who was sleeping, major political news last night: a judge chose a new map for Utah that will deliver a seat to Democrats.

Major point in Dems’ favor that effectively neuters the GOP’s move in Missouri, much like California countered Texas.
Just now: The plaintiffs who were arguing that Utah GOP's congressional map is illegal won in court.

The judge orders one of the two maps submitted by the plaintiffs ('map 1') be used.

The ruling, if it stands, guarantees that Democrats will pick up a congressional seat in Utah next year.

I LOVE AMBIGUOUSLY ALIVE INANIMATE OBJECTS!!!

I LOVE WHEN OUR COMPULSION TO PERSONIFY OBJECTS IS BLURRED WITH THE UNCERTAINTY OF WHERE LIFE ENDS AND LIFELESSNESS BEGINS!!!

I LOVE HOW IN DOING SO WE FIND THE SIMILARITIES AND MEANING IN BOTH LIFE AND THE LIFELESS!!!

A strong cold front this weekend will put the "ber" in November as frigid air spills out across the Plains and Mississippi Valley. This winter-like chill will flood across the eastern half of the country early next week, bringing the potential for record cold temperatures to the Gulf by Tuesday.
