Planting a massive chunk of public land in pines is not our solution to climate change. This is continuing short-term thinking and it's a net negative for biodiversity. Some pine is fine, but not at this scale.

I am trying to find the symposium book "Diversity and Stability in Ecological Systems: Report of a Symposium Held May 26-28, 1969," in which Lewontin's paper "The Meaning of Stability" is found. It can't be bought or reached via Amazon, Google, and sci-hub. Does anyone share this paper with me?

Restoring natural fire regimes can be considered an important option for the sustainable management of Mediterranean forests and for combating forest fires, which are expected to grow in size and intensity in the future.

Low-intensity fires can reduce fuel loads and help prevent larger wildfires in the future. However, in Türkiye's Mediterranean ecosystems, where human settlements and land use persist in many areas, much more research is needed to effectively use fire as a tool for wildfire prevention.
