Me: listening to a song called “Dangerous”
[pushes reading glasses down on nose; steadies right hand, which holds scissors for flower stem trimming]

To classify what I’m spending time on this week as “vacation” time is… inaccurate

So, Peter, which blue collar job will you be taking up?
Peter Navarro: "In an age of AI when all the white collar jobs are going away pretty damn quick, I think maybe it's a good time for people to think about having good blue collar jobs ... give tariffs a chance, because they're working"

“Models often struggle to recall what appears in the middle of a long document” aka the whole time saving pitch and point for AI LLM?

When a human does this you can train them to go back and check.
I don’t know how anyone can still talk about “the AI revolution” with a straight face. Reuters story about a railroad company that has sunk $300,000 into “developing AI products” and appears to have made…a chatbot that doesn’t work?

At this stage you are teaching the machine. It’s not helping you.
suspect a big reason why many academics and others who work in areas where getting facts RIGHT is key are disinterested in using LLMs for research:

they’ve tried it, they keep noticing major errors in output, and they conclude that having to verify all that doesn’t actually save them time.

$1 million for killing 38 trees. Get it, Bay Area. Greenwich CT will let you cut down any trees you want as long as you pay a small fine and are the governor of the state

Don’t mind me just battling Eversource at a PURA meeting on Monday, in an organizing meeting Tuesday, and a neighborhood meeting on Wednesday.

For 3 totally different reasons.

OMG is it Thursday yet?

How much does healthcare cost? This seems like a lot?
Trump now says his ballroom will cost $400 million (it was supposed to cost $250 million less than two months ago)
December 17, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Don’t worry about copilot, Microsoft. Let’s start by embedding your meeting app in your calendar app. Let’s work up to saving a file with a - or / in the title. Why would we trust developers who can’t do those things to design something that reads our documents for us? Hilarious
we can kill them all if we just work together and ✨believe💫

A lot of this is AI’s fault and it sucks

Politics is so so dirty. It’s interesting as you get older, you know more examples of that, and get less naive. But for some folks, over time you just get used to it and move along. People like me, it’s harder for us… the less naive we get, the more grossed out we still get. It gets worse

Maybe you’re thinking, but Gannon, even if I get you that Adidas purple velour track suit on sale at Macy’s for Christmas… do you have sneakers that go with it?

Well absolutely. Superstars, black with fiery orange stripes, no worries we are ready to go

Anyone know how to make a cat drink more water?
December 14, 2025 at 9:26 AM
You can tell your friend with a cat “send me a picture of your cat!” But just know that it’s a minefield and you are opening a can of worms and you really can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube there as far as shareable cat content

Staff asking if request to Docusign evaluation is legit. “Yes, sender is correct. Go secure your bag!” [ie sign your performance review]

Idk about the Calibri attacks - it’s a delightful email font! But can’t disagree USG should write in TNR.
Marco Rubio ordered diplomats to return to using Times New Roman font in official communications, calling his predecessor's decision to adopt Calibri a “wasteful” diversity move
Rubio Stages Font Coup: Times New Roman Ousts Calibri
The secretary of state called it a "wasteful" diversity move, according to an internal department cable seen by Reuters.
