Also, frankly, if you're wondering why books by/about gay men get fewer movie deals than books about gay men catered to women, it is because when straight women love a story, they force everyone they know to read it. When gay men love a story, they post a shirtless pic with it once & never again.

Everything happening now has a precedent. This is not new. Please understand that everything happening now is very American. The only change is that it is happening on camera to middle income white people. Ask BIPOC and low income white people about abuses by the state.

The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says they've been informed by the FBI that US DOJ has said FBI will solely lead the investigation into Renee Nicole Good's killing by a federal officer. State investigators no longer have access to "case materials, scene evidence/investigative interviews"

The effort of the Right to dehumanize immigrants, trans people, people of color, Democratic voters was successful. This is why people can behave like this.

This is literally what they do whenever a Black person is killed by police. No matter how solid the evidence is, they will keep pushing that lie, not just to poison the conversation and make sure the killer walks free, but to reassert the political idea that these people deserve to be killed.
The shooting is shocking enough but the government's response is off the charts when you consider that this incident is forensically documented on video.
