Daemon with a halo. Heavy metal mod. Many other contradictions.
Today’s the first day in ages where I’ve not gone for a walk.

Feel absolutely drained. And 100 interruptions per hour thanks to Teams have scrambled my brain beyond repair.

Hi ho, hi ho,
It’s to the lounge I go.
November 24, 2025 at 7:58 AM
Feel rinsed, so I'm going to start heading for bed. Hopefully, I can get there without the usual two hours of faff!

One last shot for #SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack This was my daily walk to and from Hebden rail station, and leads to Nutclough Wood.

'night, peeps. And don't bite the bed bugs.

These shots are why I keep deviating from my planned routes, despite the time, despite the aches, despite the nettles, bramble, flies and swamps.

Just one fleeting moment is all it takes.

I really enjoy going well off the beaten track when hiking. #SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack

That said, these shots are all shown as clearly marked paths on the OSMaps app! Alt-text for details.

I could happily spend all day posting to #SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack but coursework and housework beckon, as does a workout.

Work, work, work. No wonder I love escaping to quieter trails, like the path I found from my flat up to Wadsworth moor. A brutal climb, but what a view.

One more shot of the (fairly) new church, then the remains of the original church of St Thomas à Becket. They date back to 1256 (and I thought I was getting on).

It's glorious, gothic gloomth.

Handy! Pics from my walk up to the clouds yesterday fit #SundayPixOffTheBeatenTrack

Pottering round my flat in the morning, I could see clouds rolling in, shrouding the moors. I had to be there! So I headed up to Heptonstall in the afternoon for a gloriously Gothic walk. Alt-text for details. 1/2

Saw a patch of blue sky earlier so headed out for a walk around the Greenway.

A few light showers along the way, but 20 seconds from home a downpour arrived. Drenched! But, at least it washed some of the mud off my boots.

This reminds me of the times I've seen Sunn O))) in concert.

Went to see Bugonia. Loved it, and I agree with the ending.

That’s a shocker about Mani.

Spike Island seems like it was only a few months back. Yikes.

Brilliant!
My new favorite kind of meme is "here are detailed instructions on how to turn off AI". 🔨

I’m trying to build a calendar in excel.

I’d have more success teaching salmon to arm wrestle.
November 19, 2025 at 3:15 PM
There’s a sprinkling of snow on the moors.
November 19, 2025 at 7:30 AM
According to OSMaps, I’ve just walked 39.45km at an average speed of 66.1km/hr!

It’s flattering but worryingly inaccurate.
November 17, 2025 at 7:28 PM
There were other people on the tow path so I diverted and squelched up to the moors' edge, then descended through Nutclough Woods.

There's a healthy flow of water at last, with white noise rumble, which was lovely to hear.

The sensible 'no' corner has won the argument. At least for now. Browser tab closed.

Now it's time to close this laptop and stare at another screen.

Do I blow £240 on a poster by one of my fave 60s poster artists? In the 'yes' corner:
The original was never printed as the concert was canned.
Only 150 have now been printed.

In the no corner: the need for a financial safety net, new glasses, a new mattress, and framing costs for said print.

So much for my ambition to kick back with a beer and watch something mindless on TV.

I'm drinking decaf tea as I do some voluntary editing because I don't have enough plates to spin.

This is astounding!
Stripped down - almost like something from the John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band album - John singing Girl with just his acoustic guitar accompaniment highlights one of his best vocal performances

That’s 5.5 hours of Japanese ambient music added to a playlist this morning.

Wonder why I’m running late for work.
