Is there considerations I need to make for like, porting my files over? I understand I'll need to reinstall linux versions of software, but is there other considerations I need? There's some windows filesystem stuff that probably causes a pretty big mess, right?

Im interested in switching to Linux.
I like the idea of customizing my desktop experience in the ways you can with something like Arch, but would like a sort of boilerplate kit to make setting things up straightforward. What do you recommend?
