October 1 marks the anniversary of the 1752 Treaty of Friendship and Peace between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the British Crown.

The purpose of Treaty Day is to promote public awareness about Mi’kmaw culture and heritage for all Nova Scotians.

💐📖 Budge Wilson and L.M. Montgomery are deeply connected. The two writers had each occupied, as young women, decades apart, the "Third-and-a-Half” room in Halifax Ladies’ College.

Now, Wilson will join Montgomery as another great Canadian writer whose work is honoured by a Project Bookmark plaque.
