Kristin Lueke i ask the sun too much each plant i’ve kept alive so far i call my friend. each of my friends has its own quiet prayer, it’s called how i’d like to be cared for— for instance, from a distance, please & gently, within reach, without expectation but this— i will try to stay alive if you try to understand me. one is never not hungry for all my attention— the gift of you bending you backwards to please me. still another’s impossible, erratic at best & unwilling to clarify— you’ll just have to learn to learn what i want. what i want? is a room where the light finds me easy & all that we need, we have.

photo app has shown me this "x years ago today" photo and i'm cackling, this is the most gollum-ass photo of cal i have ever taken. occasionally his mutant extra-long toe bones really earn their keep.

props to @kitschful.bsky.social for bringing me a brand new form of denim crime. the shirt is unforgivable. i'm writing this before i go into the alt text to describe it so godspeed to me.
A MICAS ad containing denim crimes that I will TRY to describe. Oof. Okay so the pants, they're ALMOST whimsical. The legs sort of billow out with extra fabric that then wraps around from behind and forms a cape-like join in front. It gives the vibes of me as a kid pretending my bath towel was a cape. I will allow it. The shirt, though. Someone took a denim button down and made it hideously wrong. The button down part goes down one arm. There's a pocket in the armpit. The neckline is skewed horribly to one side. There's a torso zipper for no reason. The only thing I'll say in this shirt's favor is it's kind of fun that you could leave your lower arm buttoned and unbutton only your upper arm. Sort of an Anne of Green Gables puffer sleeve effect. Sort of edging the forearm perverts. There's some small pictures at the bottom of other separates and one of them is a skirt in plaid and leather and I think I do fuck with that one but I'm so tired.

It’s become an annual tradition to include The Way of the Wind in each year’s most-anticipated roundup. Terrence Malick has been editing his film about the life of Jesus of Nazareth since 2019, and someday, he will likely settle on a final cut. But no one, perhaps not even Malick himself, can predict when that day will come.

Leila Chatti Walking through Provincetown in January, I Fall in Love Again with my life. The fleece of it draped silver midair. From the eaves of houses icicles dripping, keeping time with my pulse. (How could I have ever wanted to cut you out? Bluest ribbon of my blood looped around my wrist as if a finger, so as not to forget—) Through the haze, sun- break demanding as a child. Messy dayglow on slush, spilling everywhere like milk. I pause at the harbor, its broad clean slate. My cheeks red as the first day. My feet planted at the edge, lapped by swash like kisses.
