It's very cool. Went a long way in making Scyther a must-have on multiple teams for me.

The reveal of Leatherface in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre is interesting because there is no visual build-up. You never see any prior hints of the mask or his shape. Instead, he literally and fully steps into the film to club both a character and the audience in the head with a hammer.

JAWS turns 50 this year and while it's full of effective examples of suspense filmmaking, I would argue that this particular shot is one of the most terrifying things ever captured in cinema.

My favorite Godzilla appearances are when they just kinda find him in places while he's taking a nap.

YES. We didn't have copious model sheets or 25 years' worth of branding standards. We had Ken Sugimori and a few others desperately hoping that when the game came out, these critters would look like SOMETHING cool.

Yeah! I spent multiple days thinking I could evolve a Dragonite into Yoshi or that I could catch a Venustoise in Pokemon Tower. The internet was in no shape to tell me otherwise, so I had to just try things out and hope that my save file wouldn't be ruined.

3D Pokémon sprites are great, but I really miss that old "You're about to be decapitated" vibe

Absolutely! There is a warring smallness and a vastness that make them fascinating. So much of the size (and even the detail) is left up to you to decide.

That's a neat point. The repeated structure style gives a childlike "are we there yet?" feeling.

I think that'd be my criticism of a lot of the 3D Pokémon games. The size and designs feel less interpretive, to the extent that when there are misnomers, they stick out aesthetically rather than feeling welcome.

I like that idea as well. And it works with how the player is kind of trained to constantly be checking things out - corners, back alleys, trash cans, etc. A very optimistic view and practice of childhood exploration.

One of the greatest video game surprises of my childhood was finally seeing a full map of Saffron City and realizing that it was only this big, instead of the size of a massive real-life city like I'd originally assumed.

Excited to announce that this is coming out in Fall 2026! I don't think I can say exactly when yet, but it's exciting to know that I AM THE NIGHT: BATMAN AND THE ANIMATED REVOLUTION is becoming more and more of a real thing.

This is one of the most important lessons you can learn in life. If you see someone who talks to a chatroom for a living while they halfheartedly play video games get angry at someone who also talks to a chatroom for a living while they halfheartedly play video games, you can leave it alone.

I love Gen 1 NPCs so much, so I can only imagine what sort of weirdos lurked behind those doorless walls

I adored Haha, You Clowns when it was a series of web shorts, so it delights me to see it evolve as it joins the Adult Swim line-up. Too patient in its bizarre earnestness to simply be a comfortable parody, Clowns requires that you develop some form of sympathy for the characters.

Finding those soda machines, something the game only barely hints that you need to do, was a multi-day process for me.

Does it work in the same way as the original YouTube shorts? Not quite, and it takes some adjustments to wrangle the rhythm of this new format. But I'm excited to see what the first season holds. I'm just so proud of those boys.

It's really cool (and made even better by how good the Godzilla suit is in that one). Also my favorite film in the series.

In a film series full of top notch behind the scenes stories, this one is likely my favorite.
