Remember, Tolkien didn't start working on "The Hobbit" until he was 41 years old. It started as tales for his children that took over 4 years to complete, and he finally published it at the age of 45.
It is never too late to start working on something that truly calls to you.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 6336675: You have to actually WANT to write. The world is filled with would-be writers fantasising about lunch with agents, foreign tours, prizes, six-figure book deals, meeting movie stars. But that’s all mostly fiction. None of it makes you a writer.

When I decided to start a fantasy worldbuilding project I was faced with the challenge of learning to draw environments. As a character artist this was way out of my comfort zone. I still have a lot to learn, but just making them exist is half the battle! You can make it good later!
