My nsfw games have not been removed but they are not searchable. I have also not been able to find and locate a single nsfw furry game in the search bar. I have looked for 6 ones so far.
so itchio has shadowbanned any games tagged with 'nsfw', 'adult', or 'erotic' so they don't show up in searches, and several devs have reported that their r18 games have been removed from the site with no warning

Let’s change gears. Do some good

Sign this. Make it go viral. Protect sex workers. End payment processor discrimination

Mastercard: Sex Work is Work. End Your Unjust Policy.
Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It must be stopped.

www.mastercard.com/global/en/vi... lists numbers for corporate offices, I don't know a good script but I would say a decent thing to say is that you want Mastercard to stop doing censorship by fiat. I'd also suggest that if you have a big following, to pressure any journalists in tech to speak up

@itch.io Hey, there was more than one month, over the last year, when books sales over your platform were the difference between my family being housed and unhoused.

Books you've just shadowbanned.

Hello, fellow netrunners.

This is extremely concerning not just for adult games, but also furry and queer games in general, as the bad actors pushing the payment processors who service platform like itch and steam will not stop at this.

Their aims are to deplatform all adult and minority content.
It appears that @itch.io has removed the ability for nsfw games to appear in recommendations. Contrast the post-download pages for Ad Astra and a random SFW front page project.

Further, projects with reference to incest appear to have been removed.

We call on Itch to reverse these changes.

The experience of being queer in indie games is you can build a little space, you can spend years building it, you can make an entire thriving community there, and it can be wiped away into nothing because one person somewhere shrugged one day and was like "eh… no more queers"

ok then. one angle of attack then needs to be actively bombarding Visa and Mastercard's phone numbers and emails.

are customer support phone numbers/emails the best avenue to start with or is there a better option?
The fact that they only needed ~1000 people to call in and email to get their way is actually pretty crazy. There are more people on some of the Discord servers I'm in that could equal their weight, and some of these are just podcast fandoms.

In 2021 I warned itchio could one day face payment processor censorship. Many people thought I was creating drama by “attacking” the company

Four years later, here we are. I was right, unfortunately

to anyone who needs to hear it, when you call porn artists/consumers "gooner bait" or whatever other puritan handwringing BS, you sound exactly like these freaks
Australian anti-porn group claims responsibility for Steam's new censorship rules in victory against 'porn sick brain rotted pedo gamer fetishists', and things only get weirder from there
Everyone hated that.

Did you know that every publicly traded corp has a team to handle investor inquiries?

DYK if you have a 401k it almost certainly has stock for both of these companies in it?

DYK that MC and Visa are REDUCING *YOUR* earnings per share by causing their customers to cut off entire income streams? (:

Doing some digging myself but Visa has a whole page dedicated towards contacting the board:

Many of the board members are also members of colleges, like Merit E. Janow from mastercard and Columbia

Visa (US + Can): 1 800 847 2911
Visa (AUS): 1 800 125 440

Collective Shout, the group that took credit for bullying Mastercard into recently censoring more platforms, stated that apparently it took them ~1000 phonecalls to convince them to give them what they wanted?

We got like way more people than that don't we?

This is so fucking depressing. With each year, a major platform is hit with more censorship of adult content (Gumroad, Patreon, Etsy, and now Itchio).

If you want to help fight back, please consider signing the ACLU petition here:
