I think a big difference between what’s happening now and the Star Wars prequels is our version of the Sith outright let us know over and over again “We are evil people here to make things bad for most of you but better for us” beforehand and millions of people still voted for them.

2025 has been my least favorite decade so far.

This all feels like that scene in Revenge of the Sith where the Palpatine gets emergency powers, and everyone cheers meanwhile Padmé is standing there all dumbfounded like how can anyone NOT see what the fuck is going on.
