Chicago's Smart Streets cameras began issuing new fine types for expired meters and parking in bus stops in late October. New cameras have come into rotation as well, to limited use.

Low impact to daily fines issued so far, and a majority of tickets are still warnings.

Our database of over 100,000 reported bike lane obstructions shows business owners themselves use bike lanes as free parking. They know the current system is so broken they will not be ticketed. They also instruct delivery drivers and customers to do the same.

I am thinking of a journal article that I am having trouble finding the source. It’s about hazard & individual capacity. There is a graph of these over time & where the lines converge is where an injury happens. Thought it was a Haddon article.

Does CPD have a hate crimes division? Peanut believes her rights are being violated.

She wants to invoke the Geneva Conventions, but she’s worried that she has never been to Kane County.

And yet!

Careful when you’re formatting your reference section. The article with a typo might belong to one of the reviewers.

But, a citation win is a win?

The Brown Line is now completely broken. A Kimball bound 🟫 is stuck at the Belmont station right before the flyover. Traffic is built up behind it.
It’s bad news bears, kids.

I am no longer in academia, but Ken Bain’s book was impactful on this very young academic. I first read it in a class about teaching at the university level, then used it myself when I was an instructor. Sad to hear that he is gone, but it’s good to know that he’s being so recognized for his work.
I never met one of my most important mentors, Ken Bain, author of What the Best College Teachers Do. This could be the most important book I've ever read and it's more relevant today than when it was first published 20 years ago. www.insidehighered.com/opinion/colu...

The advances we've made in statistics, experimental study design, and causal inference over the past century are remarkably useful for understanding our world. But there is never been a push to make people use them like we are seeing with generative AI. Perhaps take a moment to consider why.

As a board member for Active Transportation Alliance, I am thrilled that we can partner with a forward-thinking “green” coalition in the state.
