In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

Update: very active weather week to come in CA! First, a persistent and very warm atmospheric river will remain draped over NorCal, continuing to generate rain--and snow levels in the Sierra will rise yet further, above 8k-9k feet. SoCal stays warm/dry through Tue. [Thread] #CAwx

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

GOES West captured von Kármán vortices streaming around Guadalupe Island this morning. These cloud formations typically occur when the prevailing wind is diverted by elevated land features such as islands, mountaintops, or volcanoes. More cloud science at: noaa.gov/jetstream/clouds

Another thing to mention for people who don't live in LA.

Most of LA is very chill and peaceful right now. There's a huge Pride fest going on, countless farmer's markets, tourists walking around, families at the parks, people walking their dogs.

It's a big place.
