Chris Mason on BBC news desperately trying to justify his personal view that he was misled on our behalf during the budget process. The man is full of his own importance while being no more than a political gossip machine.

I don’t recall as much fuss when the Tories were caught actually lying about their final Budget and keeping the truth from the OBR. What became of this investigation? www.theguardian.com/business/202....

All of us: Why, in our judgement, Chris Mason is misleading on most political points, all the time.

Because he’s incapable of political commentary that isn’t marinated in his own rightwing bias. Allegations for Labour. Free passes for Tories/Reform. Every Single Time.

Chris Mason: Why, in my judgement, Reeves was misleading on one specific point
The Chancellor chose not to share some information on tax receipts in an unusual press conference, given before the Budget.

If you look at the ridiculous case studies they dredged up & the desperate attempts to hang Reeves for ‘lying’ about the rationale behind a policy she *did not introduce*, you might work out why right-wing media is straining *not* to talk about the finer detail of her (unremarkable) budget.

So the pound is up, the markets like the budget even the banks and fund managers. If this had been a conservative budget this would be the front page of all the media. However it’s buried on the inside pages if mentioned at all.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

So organisations publishers and broadcasters are supposed to know exactly what authors are going to choose to spend their earnings on - or else be open to the accusation of being terrorists. It is indeed "madness", and dangerous madness at that.
This is madness.

All books by Normal People and Conversations with Friends author Sally Rooney set to be withdrawn from sale.

The 34-year-old Irish author says: “The disappearance of my work from bookshops would mark a truly extreme incursion by the state into the realm of artistic expression.”
Sally Rooney books may be withdrawn from UK sale over Palestine Action ban, court told
Rooney has said she intended to use royalties from her work "to go on supporting Palestine Action."

The BBC talks to 450 million people a week in 40 languages, writes Stephen McNair. Undermining it would silence one of Britain’s last great global voices. In a fragmenting world, the BBC is still a trusted news source. That’s why some want to weaken it.

I’m worried about Richard, the supposed Reform candidate in some council by election or other in Lincolnshire.
Look at the faraway look in his eyes.
The sadness.
The furrowed brow.
The dull listlessness…😔

Is he being held hostage against his will by Andrea Jenkyns?
