This is absolutely awful. This was one of the best resources for climate indicators data, and my go-to share for help answering public questions.

Luckily I captured some of them on my new U.S. climate page a few months ago: zacklabe.com/united-state...
Additionally, it appears that all of EPA's previously extensive "indicators of climate change" pages have been scrubbed entirely. The pages no longer exist; there are numerous dead links on the current/live EPA site, and no indication they have been moved to a new URL.

I think the President of the US responding to a question about the murder of a journalist with "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman" is probably pretty bad.

Trump's very first example of the Smithsonian's "corrosive ideology" was an exhibit that correctly stated "Race is a human invention." How is scientific consensus (that biological races don't exist in humans) corrosive? We are asking scientists to co-sign our statement: forms.gle/kqKQF9CZ3jPB...

How does lava sound when it comes to the surface of the Earth? Listen to a lava flow oozing out of its effusive vent high on the southwestern side of #Etna, 28 August 2025. That day no visits by tourists were allowed on the site, which permitted this (relatively) clean recording

US is now like, fully openly fascist, no?
The Trump administration is now seeking to replace PBS with “Prager University,” a far-right propaganda organization that isn’t actually a university.

One of their “kids videos” has Christopher Columbus telling them that slavery was “no big deal” and “better than being killed.”

Took a bit of a break from drawing, was able to come back with a tree drawing.
I found this tree standing with its rock in Cannock Chase Forest. Lots of beautiful ancient oaks still hanging around there and summertime is really beautiful in England, it’s hard not to draw it

I get into fights with palaeoartists over this, but, privatisation will never deliver the same way as non-profit public resources can. People shouldn't pay to have access to education or culture. Privatisation spells doom for people low on the socioeconomic ladder.
In 1969, Mr. Rogers helped break down racial barriers on his PBS show.

Today, PBS' parent company announced that they are shutting down due to Trump administration funding cuts.

You might have guessed where I'm going with this:

Who is going to do this today? America is giving up its scientists, driving them out with racism, closed-mindedness, and a simple lack of funding, just as Europe did 100 years ago.

Who are the random department store owners who will hire them?

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

JFC. I mean, not a surprise, but the Mauna Loa CO2 observation started by Keeling in the 1950s has been the longest continuous monitoring of atmospheric greenhouse gases in the world.
The Trump administration is planning to cancel its lease at a government laboratory in Hawaii, a site where scientists support key observations of surging greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere, according to a list obtained by Democratic members of Congress and shared with The Post.
Trump moves to close facility that helps track planet-warming pollution
The lab is connected to the Mauna Loa Observatory, where scientists gather data to produce the Keeling Curve, a chart on the daily status of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations.
