I did the inflation calculator and it said that Uncle Billy lost the equivalent of $143k. If I was George Bailey, I would be quite upset too.

anyway this isn’t a legally difficult question it is a politically difficult question for the conservative majority and the only thing we’re waiting to see is if they will ignore political pressure and follow the clear text of the constitution or bend to the president’s demands.

If your opinion is that students have too many accommodations, you need to shut the fuck up. I mean that as politely as possible.

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

I have come to the idea that we have to collectively, brutally, ritualistically kill Target just to show capital that we truly aren’t fucking around.

If you showed up to my house with any of this, you would be asked to leave and immediately uninvited from the next holiday meal.

If you had to take a shot every time Joe Tessitore called the Georgia-Georgia Tech game “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate,” you would be blitzed before the first quarter was over.

I always find it wild that you can watch a movie a zillion times and still notice something new every time. I’ve seen Back to the Future so many times, but I just noticed that Doc Brown bought off a cop so he wouldn’t look at the Delorean.

This is a solid ranking
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Two anecdotes from today. For context, I taught the Hip-Hop South in my 2000s class.

1. A surprising number of students knew what ghost riding the whip was.

2. Asked students if they knew who Mike Jones was, and one student unknowingly gave the correct response of “Who?”

There are lots of reasons why people, especially historians, hate Ken Burns. He’s a great storyteller but he doesn’t let accurate history get in the way of telling a good story. It’s why his Civl War series leans so hard into the Lost Cause.
There’s some good stuff, but it’s sandwiched b/t bunk
Awesome news but I gotta ask: who hates Ken Burns?
